Morven Construction, an established site services and infrastructure company located in Napanee, Ontario, has the following opportunity to join our team:

We are looking to add a Site Supervisor to our team!

RESPONSIBILITIES

-Organize and coordinate site activities and supervision of crews, to complete the project on schedule and within budget.
-Supervise crews and projects, with a hands-on approach.
-Maintain timelines, scheduling, planning, and coordination of scheduled activities.
-Able to effectively communicate and interact with engineers, coordinators, superintendents, surveyors, sub-trades, and management.
-Able to conduct tailgate/safety meetings; identify control and hazards; ensure proper use of PPE; conduct inspections.
-Excellent time management, organizational, and strong leadership skills.
-Able to adapt to changes and flexibility; ability to prioritize work schedule.
-Responsible for organizing crews and equipment for the project and directing workers on daily tasks.
-Demonstrates leadership in health, safety and environmental protection on the project and promote/maintain a safe work environment.
-Able to read/interpret drawings, plans, blueprints, and contract documents; with a strong understanding of specifications, scope of work, and timelines.
-Accomplishes work requirements by orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, and coaching employees; and supervising sub-contractors.
-Inspecting work in progress to ensure that work conforms to specifications.
-Support maintenance of accurate As-built drawings.
-Generate daily work sheets with costs and record quantities.
-Conduct daily tailgate meetings.
-Attend and participate in on-site meetings.
-Follow and perform safe work practices and procedures through health and safety policies and plans.
-Tracking costs associated with work and daily review with project budget.
-Problem solving site issues and minimizing construction delays and claims.
-Maintains a thorough daily report that accurately tracks site progress, events, inspections and other relevant information.
-Completes any and all required documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS

-Minimum 3 years of heavy civil construction experience in supervisory role.
-Excellent communication, time management, and scheduling skills.
-Post Secondary diploma in construction is an asset.
-Solid computer skills.
-Current G license and insurable abstract.
-Solid understanding of construction materials and systems with specific knowledge of earth moving, grading, excavation, sewer and watermain construction.
-Ability to read and interpret work drawings (layout experience is an asset).
-Experience operating heavy equipment is an asset.
-Ability to work unsupervised and lead work crews.
-Ability to coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and owners.
