Position: Sheepsfoot Operator
Location: Toronto, GTA
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Description: Operate an 84” sheepsfoot roller to pack earth and material.
Main Duties:
• Drives machine in successive overlapping passes over surfaces to be compacted, rolling subgrade to desired compaction and smoothness.
• Determines speed and direction of machine based on knowledge of compressibility of material under changing temperatures.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience operating an 84” sheepsfoot packer or willingness to learn
• Good standing with Local 793
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Can follow directions and maintain production with a high attention to detail
• Is reliable, punctual, diligent, and takes pride in their work
• Has reliable transportation to site and valid G drivers’ license
• Can take direction well and operate safely in a potentially dangerous environment
• Has knowledge of applicable laws and legal codes necessary for construction
• Is safety conscious and knows how to work as a team
