As we expand our operations, we are seeking a dedicated Construction Site Supervisor and an Assistant Construction Site Supervisor to join our dynamic team.
Position: Roadworks Labourer
Location: Toronto, GTA
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Description: A roadworks labourer assists skilled tradespersons with all aspects of the road construction and maintenance operations.

Main Duties:

• Load and unload construction materials, and move materials to work areas
• Assist tradespersons in construction activities
• Assist heavy equipment operators to secure special attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in moving equipment and aid in other activities
• Level earth to fine grade specifications using rake and shovel
• Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows and other equipment
• Operate pneumatic hammers, vibrators and tampers as directed
• Tend to or feed machines or equipment used in construction such as mixers, compressors and pumps
• Direct traffic at or near construction sites
• Perform other activities at construction sites, as directed.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

• local 183 member in good standing
• valid DZ license is an asset
• can safely and properly operate small equipment
• working knowledge of construction equipment and trucks
• one to two years of experience in the road construction industry as a labourer
• working knowledge of excavation, grades, and granular related materials
• high school diploma or equivalent
• good physical health
• valid G Ontario driver’s license
• strong communication skills
• able to work independently
