Looking for a role with real purpose? Every day as a Pipelayer Assistant, you’ll add to your community’s infrastructure. Work alongside experienced Pipelayers to build out the storm and sanitary sewer systems, drainage pipes, and water mains that make life possible.

Skills You’ll Need

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work together or independently
  • Comfort with hand tools and other equipment
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and city maps
  • Math knowledge

What You’ll Do

  • Dig trenches with hand and machine tools (like backhoes or skid loaders)
  • Cut and move pipe into those trenches, aligning and joining them
  • Signal equipment operators to ensure safe excavation
  • Use laser levels to establish alignment and grade
  • Remove broken and outdated piping

To become a Pipelayer Assistant, you just need a high school diploma — that’s it!
