Job Duties

• Up and down ladder to go in/out of trench
• Guide a pipe that is being lowered by a machine into position in the trench
• Might have to use a metal bar as leverage to adjust the position of the pipe
• Using a hand shovel to adjust placing and height of gravel in the trench
• Repetitive bending to look in pipe

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Must be reliable and able to work a physically demanding job
• Ability to work 10 hours per day, 5 days a week, on your feet in an outdoor setting with varying weather conditions
• Ability to work in a strong team environment and to communicate well with the crew, foreman and supervisor
• Ability to multi-task, take direction from foreman and work independently when required
• Ability to follow all safety policies, safe work practices and procedures, and participate in health & safety activities and training
• Previous experience working in sewer & watermain construction is an asset, however we are willing to train new Pipe Layer
• Must have steel-toed safety boots
• Valid Driver’s License is required with own reliable transportation.
