The Entry-Level Construction Labourer works as part of a sewer, watermain and heavy civil construction crew supporting the safe and efficient installation of underground municipal infrastructure.
This position is intended for individuals who want to enter the construction industry, learn the fundamentals of sewer and watermain construction, and develop into more skilled field positions.
The employee will initially perform general labour duties while working alongside experienced Foremen, Pipelayers and Topmen. As the employee develops knowledge, demonstrates reliability, works safely and shows the ability to take on additional responsibility,
CDC will provide opportunities for practical field training and development toward Pipelayer Helper, Topman and Pipelayer roles.

Progression into higher-skilled positions will depend on demonstrated competency, safety performance, attendance, work ethic, available opportunities and the requirements of the applicable LIUNA Local 183 / GTSWCA Collective Agreement.
